PEGI

Written entry:

The game I am created is a Survival game, rated PEGI 16. This means I can mildly use gore aspects in the game, which affects my assets. I could use tables designed for crafting in the game, adding a different aspect of survival as well as a different feature. This table could be used like the ones in Dead Island where it is used to repair and modify weapons rather than Minecraft where you create weapons with it. The game itself could play on a psychological aspect of survival, many modern survival games are either at one end of the spectrum or the other. A game like Minecraft or The Last Of Us. With it being PEGI 16, I could add a more detailed aspect of survival by making it open world or after the game ends, being able to explore the open world after the events of the game. Also, the psychological aspect could add more of a twist to the game making it more interesting due to most survival games that are being churned out all copy aspects from games like Minecraft or they are blatant rip-offs. With it being PEGI 16 it can be marketed to a wider audience because people at 16 are able to purchase it and play it as long as people who are older. Restrictions are that there can't be any extreme gore, like cutting off limbs because that breaches PEGI 16 restrictions and would move it up to PEGI 18.

Mood Board:

Mind Map:

Character- Start off deprived, dressed in rags.

Scenery- Everywhere is destroyed, no electricity available. the world has gone to chaos.

Food and Water- Only available in tinned food, difficult to find on the map but is never required.

Weapons- Can be easily gained from camps of people who have them, you will be able to barter with them or steal from them.

Animals- These are around the map and can be killed for things like fur for coats.
The snowman is an NPC that will be used to gain items off later on in the game when winter comes.  I used various tools like excrusion to make the top hat and nose, I also put the spheres together to make it seem like they were stuck togethre.

The battery is used to recharge your torch or be put into other electrical items to charge them up, like generators for supplying mass electric to a building. I used the section tool to colour in certain areas of the bgattery, and created the lines to make it look smoother.

Chair after and before the finishing details. The chair will be used for a resting point to refill your stamina. I used the copy and paste tool, as well as the scaling tool to get the bars across the back.

The knife is used for combat in the game when you come across enemies. I used various shape tools to create the handle and blade, the blade was originally a square but I bent it out of proportion to make the sharp blade.

This is the compass after use in the game, it is used for finding your directions in the game. I used the texture tool to apply the image at the top, and intrusion to make the denst, as well as a material around to show wear and tear.

My table after and before colours. The table will be able to craft items.I used copy and paste toi get the exact length of each leg.

I have created varied models to focus on the survival PEGI 16. I used a battery to show that in my game there are items which require power, it also means that torches in the game won’t be unlimited use but will be limited to the amount of battery's you have. As well as this, I have a compass for the direction and tables for crafting items at. A knife is included in my models as well so that you know the game has a perspective of combat. Furthermore, the snowman is an NPC that will be used in the snow region of the map who will give you items.

Pre-production helped me massively because it allowed me to plan out how my models were going to be shown, and represented, you can see my plan sketches below for these models. As well as this, my risk assessment prevented any loss of data as well. Furthermore, my reece report kept the work area safe from any accidents in the workspace because I got rid of the problems.

below are my sketches which will show my planning for the items and how I wanted them to look:
